Starts strong with a mystery and carries the suspense the suspense all the way through. It's an engaging story. The small cast of characters were realistically portrayed. Just the right amount of liberties were taken with the historical facts and Disney details to create a compelling story that feels like it could be real. For an example, a meeting place is held in a fairy tale cottage. I don't want to give too much away, so I'll leave it there. Definitely would buy another book by this writer.Product details

I started this book thinking I really wouldn't like it. Well, I've changed my mind. I ended up with my nose stuck to the & kept forwarding the pages. Yes, there is a major implausibility in one aspect of the plot, but I still kept on reading. It's fiction & sometimes you've just got to roll with the story & keep moving forward. I still wanted to know what was going to happen to Grayson Hawkes. I wanted to follow him through the parks trying to piece together the 3 Imagineers clues. I wanted to know who were the good guys & who was bad! Also love the Disney history lesson that is subtly taught throughout the book. It had me hooked to read more of the clues & learn where there are little hidden treasures. 2nd installment - here I come.
As a slightly fanatical fan of all things Disney, I read this book straight through and flipped pages faster and faster as I progressed! What a ride!
I especially loved the detail about the parks. Having visited Disney World many times, I found myself walking the streets and seeing the well-researched details provided by the author.
Although the ending is a bit beyond believable, you never know with Disney. The characters are well described and developed, and the storyline progresses quickly.
Two Ears up!
This book was amazing. I am a huge Disney fan so going on this mystery/scavenger hunt with our main character Hawk was really fun. I loved that this book took place over 7 days, kind of like a vacation itself. There were a lot of twists and turns and I learned so much about Disney and Disney trivia I had not known before. I really want to go to Walt Disney World now and see everything Hawk did. I always knew Disney Imagineers put a lot of detail and imagination in their work. I would like to take a day and just walk around the park and look at all the extra details. If I could give this book more than 5 stars I would. I look forward to reading his second book. I received this book from bookfun.org for my honest opinion.
I have only been to Disney World once and have realized that I really did not "see" this wonderful place like Jeff Dixon has. He weaves a very intriguing story which will hold your attention and want you to find out what the mystery is all about. I thoroughly enjoyed this great story of a man who unravels a clever mystery. I won't give away the ending which is perfect. Since this is Book 1, I can't wait to read the others. Highly recommend this book, and commend the author for his intriguing storyline!
There's one thing that is certain about Jeff Dixon he loves Walt Disney World. Not just the attractions, but the feeling of magic and wonder that I still get when I visit the resort. His passion really shines forth throughout this book. The level of detail about the parks that he includes is so excellent that I often found myself saying aloud, "Oh yeah! I remember that area!" and, "I never knew that's what THAT meant!" The pace of this novel is excellent as well.
Basically, if you love Walt Disney World, you will enjoy this novel. If you don't absolutely LOVE WDW, you may find yourself planning your next vacation just so you walk along the streets that Grayson Hawkes walked in The Key to the Kingdom.
I loved how the storyline was different and unique. I enjoyed the characters and want to visit Disney world again to see the connections. The book makes me think!
Giving as a gift after having read the version. As Walt Disney World local, it is nice to have true knowledge of the described areas outside of "the world." Enough truth with the fiction to make a reader believe in magic and pixie dust.
There are always changes happening at Walt Disney World and this book takes place in a time before Fast Pass Plus came to be, yet the majority of the rides, tours and attractions are as described. Made me stop and go visit some areas again.
